During the year 1980, Late Rev. S. Samuel and other lay leaders in Bangalore developed a vision to serve the underprivileged people, living below the poverty level in the state of Karnataka. They decided to make a difference in the lives of people, who are in moral, social and economic bondage. Thus in 1981 the Karnataka Evangelistic Association (KEA) came into existence. KEA is a registered organization under the Societies Act. It is non-profit NGO
